Brian's Bio

Since working with Entitys360, he has worked with many enterprise industries concerning banks, health care, government agencies, and other large multisite corporations that depend on quick resolutions, robust rollouts, and minimal downtime. Brian specializes in the assessment, design, and implementation of application and desktop virtualization as well as mobility solutions leveraging Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware technologies. Brian has served as a technical lead for numerous application virtualization and desktop virtualization solutions across several different verticals including health care, higher education, and financial institutions. The virtualization environments that she has supported range from a few hundred users to 10,000+ concurrent users.

Personal Summary

Brian Frabl is currently an Enterprise Engineer with the End User Computing team at Entisys360. Brian Frabl has been in the IT industry for over 20 years. Around the year 2000 he ventured off to New Zealand. He was an IT consultant that serviced companies under the control of a venture capital company located in Auckland. He returned to Southern California where he worked with multiple law firms throughout the Los Angeles area. He later moved to San Francisco where he did the same, as well as working with hospital groups and a University.

This also included updating their access/security policies and redundancy. Prior to Entisys, Brian was working for the largest labor law firm in the USA that provided legal services nationwide as well as internationally. Brian specialized in the migration of applications for the firm to their new datacenter (for virtualization) and worked specifically with updating their citrix infrastructure for support, function, and performance. This role encompassed the design, build, execution and follow up of all phases of the application migrations and testing through to completion.

Technical Engagements

Large Enterprise (5000+) Finance Institution

Assessed the business requirements and IT Infrastructure to architect a large-scale upgrade of the Application Delivery system (with Citrix and VMware) from XenApp 6.5 to XenApp & XenDesktop 7.15. This was an update and migration to a new environment which needed minimal downtime. In addition, there was a need for deploying Linux based machines and environment which needed management and automation from the Linux side team and to work in conjunction with the Citrix team for support and deployment

Large Enterprise (7000+) Financial

Institution Implement 4 NetScalers across multiple regions for a large production. Provide HA and GSLB access between sites. Update, apply, test and deploy new MFA solution to be delivered and used during peak season which included 7000+ concurrent users. Tested and deployed security with updated lock down recommendations and external testing.

Medium (1000-5000) Retail

Implementation of new Azure cloud deployment. A new Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.x environment be built, utilizing Azure IaaS. The initial environment was built to support 750 concurrent users in different regions but designed to allow for growth to 2000+ seasonal workers. This design and implementation approach allowed for expansion and use for seasonal and peak usage and ability turn down when not in use to save costs.

Small (100-500) Hospital

Designed & implemented a VDI delivery model for clinical users (nurses, doctors, etc.) to access their critical patient data from a variety of endpoint devices such as iPads, thin clients, and Windows PCs. Provided (single sign on products), end-point controls and auditing procedures to ensure only authorized personal had access to patient data. Netscaler deployment for external but secure use of medical personnel.

Small (100-500) Architecture/Engineering

Design, implement and configure the virtual infrastructure, starting with the hosts and virtualization management servers. The organization to use vSphere for management virtual workloads, and XenServer for VDI virtual desktops. The XenServer hosts configured with NVIDIA GRID cards, enabling high performing graphics workloads within the virtual desktop sessions. Deployment of Ivanti and Citrix Application Delivery Management (ADM) for management of devices and user environments.
